Methodology & Didactics

Christian Schernthaner is the expert for learning methodology and didactics at duftner.digital.

Digitalization not only changes business processes and models, but also requires a new way of thinking and learning. An offline online method mix bundles the findings of learning research and shows how a company can minimise the time and resources required for further training by using digital learning media. Thanks to the mix of methods, new competencies are built up and consolidated.

Career

Christian Schernthaner graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in Zell am See. He then completed a bachelor’s degree in economics with a focus on European integration.

Christian Schernthaner specialized in multimedia learning during his master’s degree in business education. In his master thesis he dealt with the topic „Cognitive Overload with Learners in Blended Learning Setting“. Based on the knowledge gained, Christian Schernthaner specialises in adapting learning content and environments to the cognitive structure of learners.

In 2015, he began his professional career at the Institute of Microtraining, where he was initially responsible for the development of digital learning content and the training of in-house microtrainers.

Current activities at Institute of Microtraining

Christian Schernthaner’s many years of experience in all areas of IOM make him the expert for the implementation of mobile learning technology in companies. It shows how opportunity costs can be saved and how existing, partly implicit knowledge can be manifested in the form of a learning and knowledge management tool.

Christian Schernthaner leads a part of the mentoring programme for the sales and master partners in Europe on the topics of methodology, didactics and digitisation in continuing vocational training.

His areas of activity include the conception and implementation of trainer certifications and the (further) development of learning materials. In addition to the creation of multimedia mobile content, Christian Schernthaner has specialized in the creation of crisp explanatory videos due to the demand. Certification as a Certified Digital Consultant complements his consulting services and enables SME-sponsored digitization consulting.
